What is in Store for 2017?

Well that is a good question!

2017 appears to be the start of many different projects. I may be venturing into the world of youtube and radio in the not too distant future. Now it's time to compare and price microphones.

I will still be writing. Essays and recipe will still be developed and published but this coming publishing cycle will be more about poetry and fiction. So a few more chapbooks will be releases along with a new novel and the second book of another.

It is the beginning of December and already 2017 is shaping up to be a huge year!

Have a super day!

Loud and Clear

Wow! I just keep racking it up in the plus column.

I placed a publishing timeline for my future chapbooks on Sonoran Dawn Poetry today. Four books of poetry in the next three years. 2017 will see two publications.

The Descent came out in 2016 with great success.

I look forward to sharing more creative writing next year. I began Sonoran Dawn Studios to explore my creative side, but I began with releasing more nonfiction than anything else. I think I will turn the tables for next year's publishing focus and release more creative writing.

I am seeking to have a balance in my writing publications so every aspect is available to potential readers. I would like to see all my publishing spotlights filled with an array of options.

That is why I chose the independent, self publishing route: I wanted to write my way. Too often agents and publishing houses cram you into one genre or characterization instead of realizing writers write more than one topic. I write from supernatural to science fiction. My poetry is even more diverse!

I hope you enjoy what is coming up next and keep the positive reviews coming!

Have a literary day.

What I Love About My Cover Art

I posted two of my releases on the right sidebar and now are available on Lulu.com. A fiction novel and a chapbook are both in the Halloween theme. That was good fun.

Next year in 2017, I want to finish up the novel with book II and release a book of poetry that is lighter and in the speculative fiction genre. There will be plenty of astronomical poems too!

My decision to become my own publisher has led me into a career as a cover artist. My cover art is great. I run into so many books with half naked people on them trying to sell sex as their marketing focus. Well, that to me means that you are trashy romances or not very good books.

So I went in the opposite direction with my art. No people. No nakedness. Just cover art that goes along with the books. Cover art is supposed to be symbolic of the themes and topics written inside, not porn posters.

Writers and publishers have gotten off track.

Since my poetry is literary as well as lyrical and my novels are character and plot driven, I have gone into my digital art inspiration and pulled out some neat designs. In the Name of Blood is dark and gothic. The Descent is ethereal and epic.

And that is exactly what you get inside. Mission accomplished!

So pop over and download these pdf's today. You won't be disappointed. And, leave me a great review!

Have a literary day!

What a Difference a Day Makes

A little of this and a little of that, add a dash of color...

Now you have a website to call home. I haven't had a home. I have been emotionally homeless. I may have four walls and a roof but sometimes a person likes to strut their stuff.. so to speak.

So welcome to Dawn Leslie Mullan. I have a Facebook page, websites, novels, art, chapbooks, essays, and articles available at a given time. I love to create. I love to poke the bear.

Broaden your world by joining mine.

Have a stupendous day!
